Japanese Singer, Namie Amuro
Namie Amuro (Amuro Namie) was born on September 20, 1977 in Okinawa, Japan.
She is a Japanese singer, dancer, and former child actor.
At the peak of her career, she was referred to as "Teen Queen (of Japan)" and the "Queen of Japanese pop music".
Namie has produced several million-selling records and started several fashion trends in Japan.
Since her debut at the age of fourteen, Nami has remained one of the longest surviving popular female singers in Japan.
She is the only Japanese female artist to have achieved a Top 10 single each year for fourteen straight years.
In 2001, she made a transition from pop star to R&B.
Since 1995, she has released 8 albums and 3 compilation albums.
On October 25, 2008, Namie started her Best Fiction tour.
Besides singing, Namie has appeared in several TV shows, Ichigo hakusho, Toki o Kakeru Shojo, Watashi, mikata desu and Station.
She has also appeared in the movies "That's Cunning! Shijo Saidan no Sakusen" and "Gakko II: The Learning Circle".
